ACHIEVEMENT IN MUSIC EXAMS – TEACHER CHECKLIST

This checklist will help you make sure you have met all of the West Suburban MTA requirements for entering your students. Teachers entering students are expected to:
• Become a member of MTNA
• Attend TWO complete West Suburban business meetings and programs
BEFORE the Performance Exams.
• Volunteer to judge or work in the office (per the needs of the schedulers) the required number of hours, based on the number of students I enter.
4 hours (1-10 students)
4 1/2 hours (11-15 students)
5 hours (16-20 students)
5 1/2 hours (21-25 students)
6 hours (26 or more students)
• Attend the Theory Judging session, October 4, 2018 at 9:45 a.m.
(applicable only if entering students in Level 3 and up in the Theory exam.)
• I have attended the Performance Judging session, February 7, 2019
at 9:45 a.m.
• I understand that special scheduling requests will not be accommodated and will not request schedule changes for my students once the schedule has been set. I understand that any student unable to attend at his or her assigned time may instead take a makeup exam.
Deadline Checklist for Theory Exam:
• I have enrolled my students (level 3 and up) by the October 1 deadline.
• I have doubled-checked the online enrollment form to see that my students have all been entered correctly by the October 1 deadline.
• I have completed the online judging form to provide my judging information by the October 1 deadline.
• I have turned in my check for the correct amount to the AIM co-chairs by the deadline listed in the newsletter. ($25 per student.)
Deadline Checklist for Performance Exam:
• I have sent in any repertoire substitution requests to Stephanie Myers for approval of repertoire not on our syllabus by January 15 and will not request approval after this date.
• I have enrolled my students including their repertoire selections by the February 1 deadline. I understand that there will be no changes to repertoire selections once enrolled.
• I have double checked the online enrollment form to see that my students have all been entered correctly by the February 1 deadline.
• I have completed the online judging form to provide my judging information by the February 1 deadline.
• I have turned in my check for the correct amount to the AIM co-chairs by the deadline listed in the newsletter. ($25 for Levels 1A-2 and 9-12 only.)
Level 12 only:
• I have submitted a copy of my level 12 student’s repertoire to Stephanie Myers for program approval at least 5 months before the exam.
Level 11 & 12 only:
• I have contacted the treasurer one week before my students’ exam date to arrange for a check to be ready for the judge(s) on the day of the exam.
